Epsilon Composite joins official French business delegation during President Macron’s State Visit to India
During the State visit of President Emmanuel Macron to India which marked the launch of the Indo-French Year of Innovation Alexandre Lull, CEO of Epsilon Composite, joined the official business delegation. The visit highlighted the strategic role of power transmission infrastructure in supporting India’s rapid electrification, industrial growth, and digital expansion.
Through its Indian subsidiary HindEpsilon Composite, based in Chennai, Epsilon Composite is strengthening its operational footprint in India. While renewable generation capacity is expanding rapidly across the country, transmission infrastructure including renewable energy corridors and inter-state networks must scale at the same pace to evacuate power efficiently and avoid congestion.
Discussions during the AI Impact Summit 2026 emphasized that artificial intelligence requires robust physical infrastructure. Data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, and digital services all depend on stable and high-capacity electricity supply. Strengthening transmission networks is therefore a prerequisite for sustainable digital growth.
In this context, HVCRC® advanced conductors developed by Epsilon Composite are a key contributor to strengthening the Indian power grid. They increase the capacity of existing lines, reduce losses and thermal sag, and help avoid or defer heavy investment in new infrastructure, thereby optimizing capital expenditure and minimizing right-of-way constraints. Thanks to this technology, existing assets can be upgraded rapidly, supporting the energy transition, industrial development, and the expansion of digital infrastructure.
“India is undertaking one of the largest transmission expansion programs in the world. Advanced conductors offer a practical and cost-efficient way to increase grid capacity rapidly while supporting the country’s renewable and digital ambitions.” Alexandre Lull, CEO, Epsilon Composite
“As Indian utilities seek diversified and competitive supply chains for advanced conductors, proven and reliable technologies are increasingly prioritized. Epsilon Cable is proud to answer this call with a proven, cost-efficient and sustainable solution. Our mission is fully aligned with India’s national grid strengthening plan and ‘Make in India’ initiative. In the coming months, our local production will further strengthen supply chain resilience and reduce lead times.”
Beyond the diplomatic context, Epsilon Composite has already secured more than ten contracts across four Indian states with both public and private stakeholders. During the visit, three additional projects were signed in Tamil Nadu, confirming growing market adoption of the HVCRC® technology. These projects illustrate Epsilon Composite’s ability to support the modernization of India’s electrical infrastructure, contribute to the national target of 500 GW of installed renewable capacity by 2030, and provide a reliable foundation for the responsible development of AI.
About Epsilon Composite and Epsilon Cable
Epsilon Composite:
Epsilon Composite designs and manufactures carbon fiber composites for industrial, civil engineering, aerospace, and energy markets since 1987. It is a pioneer and world leader in high-performance composite materials through the pultrusion process. This highly efficient technology, combined with the extraordinary properties of carbon fibers, is the ideal solution to manufacture the cores of advanced conductors, also known as High Capacity / High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors.
Since 2023, Sumitomo Corporation (Japan) has joined the company’s capital as a minority shareholder to support the ambitious growth of the Epsilon Cable division. Epsilon Composite’s headquarters and main facilities are located in France, with subsidiaries in Japan, India, and Mexico.
Epsilon Cable:
Epsilon Cable is the company’s division specialized in advanced conductors, designed to improve line ampacity, reduce sag, and minimize electrical losses. Thanks to their strong lightweight composite core made of aerospace-grade carbon fiber, glass fiber, and epoxy resin, Epsilon Advanced Conductors such as HVCRC® can cost-effectively double the ampacity of high-voltage overhead lines, mitigate sag issues, reduce electrical losses, cut CO₂ emissions, and ensure a quick return on investment for utilities.
With a proven track record of several thousand kilometers of conductors installed and energized worldwide over the past 20 years, Epsilon Cable serves the most demanding utilities to help them strengthen and modernize their power grids.
